WorkCover insurance support is invoked when you have experienced significant physical or psychological trauma that is related to, or caused by your workplace or your nature of your employment duties that has rendered you unfit or unable to attend work and perform your usual duties. While many workplace injuries are physical in nature,

Depending on injury, your need for support under the program of the state you reside in and support can be provided by providers registered to your state scheme anywhere in Australia through telehealth services such as phone or video such as Zoom.

While the most obvious and clear to define injuries are physical, often overlooked in these cases is the psychological impact which may be lasting and impactful, even after the physical injury is stabilised or resolved. Support may be needed to both navigate the impact of injury and its affect on individual mental and emotional health and the impact it has on capacity to attend to the usual tasks of life, such as work, travel, family and social connections and activities.

In other cases, aspects of the work role such as interpersonal or managerial relations may result in psychological injury through unreasonable workloads or expectations, the challenging or traumatising potential of the nature of the work (eg. policing) or via the actions of individuals causing excessive stress.

Leo brings many years of experience working with clients nationally who are supported by a WorkCover scheme and works with clients who

Transport accidents

Reasonable or necessary treatment to support recovery

Transport accidents are usually unexpected and often highly confronting, often resulting in physical injury that can be extensively debilitating and lasting. Often not considered is the psychological impact which can be sudden and acute, right after the incident, through to long term and lasting post-traumatic stress.

Accident cover is provided by insurance schemes in NSW and Victoria which Leo is a registered provider of psychological and mental health services for. In NSW, support is provided by State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) and in Victoria by the Transport Accidents Commission (TAC). The Victorian scheme covers many accidents that are transport related which includes public transport related accidents.

If you have been involved in an accident, you may feel overwhelmed and confused about what treatment and options are available to you, if you are eligible for cover and how to work with these schemes to be approved for, and access the cover you are entitled to.

As a survivor of a Victorian not at fault motor accident, Leo has extensive professional and first-hand experience to assist you in the navigation of your recovery and treat and support you in the psychological recovery journey.

You can read below the steps you need to take to register with the schemes if you have been involved in an accident in NSW or Victoria. Once registered, approved services can be provided to you and they will be invoiced by the provider to the state scheme.
